DotComSecrets Contest & Free Course

Monday, October 20th, 2008

The One Hundred Million Dollar Challenge is what Russel Brunson has named it, and it seems set to be a killer.

DotComSecrets ContestGiven the intention of making $100,000,000 for its participants in a year, it is an awesome way to reach out to thousands of people who otherwise would never have heard of Russell.

I’ve joined it, I’ve made some money already as part of his referral program, and I think the lessons inside are of great use.

It just started last week, so if you still have not registered, I would advise you to do so immediately as we will be starting the 2nd week soon, and there is a Corvette at stake (thats the prize Russell is giving out.)

Click here to join the contest for free (Yes, its completely free. You are not obligated to purchase anything or donate anything.)

The way this free course is set up is brilliant. You get to watch a video, take a test, and perform some actions (your homework). Once you have completed the homework, you’re to put up your results on the blog you create.

This is a great way to encourage participation, and make sure someone completed teh tasks at hand. If you do not complete all the tasks, it is not possible to move on to the next phase.

The content is great for a beginner (I found it a tad too simple for my standards, and hope the next phase will have more meat) but there is the part about laying a great foundation first. So get in now, and you can enjoy all the benefits.

Whats with all these Printed Newsletters?

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Printed newsletters make a lot of money for the person/persons printing it. Period.

You might have noticed some printed and mailed newsletter launches recently, such as those from Mike Filsaime and the guys from StomperNet.

For those of us in the “Rest of the World” category, shipping charges for these can easily add up to a hefty sum, sometimes even more than the cost of the newsletter subscription itself.

For example, lets take the Neteffects Magazine/newsletter. Subscription to this magazine is USD39.95 - lets round everything - so that would be $40.00 Shipping on it to Singapore is an additional $20. Now they also have an upsell for a “Best of Stompernet” DVD - for an additional $20 + $10 shipping.

Total = 40+20+20+10 = $90 approx per month
So is it worth it? That would depend on the individual. For me, I’ll evaluate it on a case by case basis. Lets see what they are able to deliver this month, and see if it warrants the expense per month.
Anyway, I’ll get to keep the bonuses, which was the reason it tipped me over to order the subscription in the first place.

Already, I’m loving Jeff Johnson’s content and Howie Shwartz, considering I’ve not heard much about these two marketers.

We’ll see when the package arrives in Singapore. Its been a few days and no parcel has arrived at my home so far.

Do You Want A Step By Step Plan or Are You Developing A Strategy?

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

I’ve just come back from six grueling days with Stephen Pierce and his team at the UYMG Malaysia 2007.

There, he mentioned that you need a strategy to outsmart and outwit your competition. Step by step plans do not work in a competitive environment.

Plans and recipes work well in a controlled environment, where you control everything, example, to bake a cake, you can control the temperature, time, correct mixture of ingredients, and viola, you get the perfect cake everytime.

Try that when playing chess. Have you ever gone into a game of chess, and said, “Here is my plan for the game, and I am following it step by step”. One move by your opponent that is different from your pre-planned plan, and you will be doomed!

So while you need to know various methods and techniques, what is needed is a strategy to beat the competition. So work on your mission and vision statements, and always ask “Where can I win?”, and “What else?”.
